Modifications are offered so that all classes are open to people of all levels. My classes integrate elements of energetic Kundalini yoga and restorative yin yoga postures as well as gentle Qigong movements. The aim is to balance the body’s energies and focus on the breath in order to relieve tension in the mind.
Slow Flow
Do not kill the instinct of the body for the glory of the pose.
Vanda Scavarelli
This is a calming, fluid yet also strengthening class mixing vinyasa and hatha styles of yoga.
With longer holds and fewer linking of poses than in a traditional vinyasa class, yet more flow than in a traditional hatha class. Focus is on the breath and mindful movements.
Slow flow workouts are known for warming up the muscles and joints slowly yet effectively.
Vinyasa Flow
Make your posture steady and comfortable.
Yoga Sutra II.46. Patanjali
Vinyasa yoga is synonymous with movement. It is a flowing series of postures, usually involving standing and seated poses, balances, and inversions. Each asana (posture) is linked to the next and guided by a steady conscious breath. The breath drives the movement. These classes are a good way to strengthen, stretch, breathe, and move.
Yoga Nidra
The practice of yoga nidra is a practice in which sleep is involved. Nidra means sleep. The idea is that during this yogic sleep, the body becomes profoundly rested, although the awareness remains quite active. During the practice, you do not need to do any effort, you just aim at fully relaxing yourself.
Yoga nidra is a guided healing practice that promotes deep relaxation of the physical, emotional, and mental body. It is usually practiced lying down. It is a unique opportunity to rest, recalibrate, and re-align ourselves with our true, joyful nature.
Meditation
Meditation gives you what nothing else can give you - it introduces you to yourself. Swami Rama
A meditation class lasts approximately 45 minutes. It starts with warm-ups and gentle asanas to release the tensions of the body and free the mind. Meditation can be practiced seating or lying on the floor. If it is more comfortable for you, you can sit on a chair. You choose the meditation posture that suits you best, according to your body, your mood, the time of the day.
After a short pranayama (breathwork), the guided meditation starts, you are free to close your eyes or to keep them open. The meditation ends with five to ten minutes of silent meditation.
